Worth knowing

The barrel vise is a tool for gently clamping small objects for further processing. Often these clamping tools are made of wood and have parallel clamping by means of a wing nut. For maximum protection, the clamping jaws are often additionally equipped with a leather attachment. Unlike vices, barrel vices are held in the hand and thus allow maximum mobility.
