Commissioning

Before the first melting process, the furnace must be preheated. To do this, operate the furnace without the crucible at a temperature of 600 °C for 4 hours. This preheating process is only required once!

Maintenance

The melting furnace requires no maintenance under normal operating conditions. If necessary, the ceramic insert in the lid and the entire heating chamber, including the temperature sensor, can be easily replaced by the user.

Before each use, inspect the graphite crucible for any damage and replace it if necessary. To prevent cracks and damage, place the crucible back into the furnace immediately after use and close the lid to allow it to cool slowly. To avoid contamination, use a separate crucible for each metal. With proper handling, up to 10 melting cycles can be performed with a single crucible.
