Bonny Doon offers a new spin on the classic metal-forming stake. Bonny Doon stakes are CNC-milled from hexagonal stock creating precise synclastic and anticlastic shapes with less flex than found in traditional stakes.
The hexagonal center of this stake clamps securely into a bench vise, providing a more stable work surface compared to traditional forming stakes. This stake has three graduated synclastic forms on one end and two on the other end; each end measures 3"L. When used with the Bonny Doon urethane hammer, this stake becomes a must-have for any metalsmith.
The stake can be secured in most standard bench vises; however, for the most secure hold, use with the Bonny Doon vertical vise--the points of the hex shape index into the grooves in the vise face, providing an uncompromising grip on the stake. Milled from 1-3/8" hexagonal steel stock.
