PUK 6.1 - CONTROL UNIT
from Lampert - the jewelry welder
The PUK 6.1 is THE jewelry welder for every jewelry manufacturer, goldsmith, silversmith, watchmaker, jeweler and many more.
Welding on fittings, applying and repairing metal to edges and surfaces on jewelry and watches, fixing work, welding eyelets, closing pores, producing seams and much more is possible with the PUK 6. The PUK 6.1 also handles the welding of precious metals including silver, copper, bronze and all other weldable alloys as well as material thicknesses of less than 0.2 mm with ease.
A comparison with its predecessors shows: 20 years of experience and passion in the development of jewelry welders have raised the features of the PUK 6 to an unprecedented level.

The facts of the PUK 6 jewelry welders at a glance:Design
- Redesigned display with improved resolution
- Clear design language with timeless aesthetics as a visual highlight at any workplace, both in the workshop of goldsmiths and silversmiths and in the salesroom of jewelers
- Noble, selected materials for highest demands on value and appearance
Welding
- Up to 3.3 spot welds per second: up to 65% faster spot weld sequence
- More homogeneous, smoother spot welds – excellent weld even with variable spot spacing
- Higher heat input if required: Perfect results even with critical materials
- The new PUK 6 jewelry welders can produce 50% finer spot welds in the lower power spectrum.
- Minimum pulse duration now down to 0.1 ms: 67% shorter impulse duration in micro mode
Handpiece and electrode
- 20% faster and thus more agile electrode lifting
- Maximum electrode thickness now up to 1 mm
- Up to 50 % longer service life of the electrode
Average measured service life improvement in test setups, actual value depends on individual user profile
Operation
- 70% higher display resolution with increased viewing angle under all ambient conditions – real added value in the workshop for every goldsmith and silversmith
- Faster operation and material selection (gold, silver, platinum, palladium, copper alloys, titanium and more) through direct control with one-hand joystick with turn-push-tilt function
- Faster maximum spot weld sequence due to extended speed function – selectable in 3 levels
- Refined micro mode with tighter gradation enables extended spectrum when welding at the lower power limit
- New standby mode: Continuous availability with 85% lower energy consumption

The functional principle of PUK welding- If the electrode tip touches the workpiece, the welding process starts automatically by protecting the welding point from oxidation with protective gas and drawing an electric arc (energy flow) from the contact point. This creates a melting point of approx. 0.2 to 3.0 mm in diameter at the contact point (depending on the material and setting). A stable and clean welding point is created.
- The precise positioning of the welding points is made possible by placing the electrode tip on the workpiece. The arc required for welding is ignited precisely from the point of contact.
- The energy flow during welding is influenced by the angle at which the electrode tip touches the workpiece. Welds can thus be directed in the desired direction. Previously applied metal can be easily distorted or modeled.
- The PUK precision welding devices open up many possible applications. Welding on fittings, applying metal, fixing workpieces before soldering, welding eyelets, closing pores and creating seams are just a few examples.
- Metal can be added without any problems. Material can be applied to fractures, pores or depressions using welding wires.
- All metals or alloys that are suitable for TIG or laser welding are suitable for welding. In addition to precious metal alloys, these include many steels, titanium, nickel and tin alloys (fashion jewelry).
