File-A-Wax is a hard wax manufactured in the USA for model making. It can be easily worked with conventional tools and can be filed, sawed, drilled, scraped, and milled.
Wax Colors / Properties
Ferris File-A-Wax Blue (Soft)
A softer wax formulated for excellent flexibility and bending strength. The blue-colored wax can be carved into very thin sections while maintaining outstanding detail. It is especially suitable for rounded corners and less intricate designs. Due to its very low ash content, this product is ideal for the investment casting process.
Ferris File-A-Wax Pink (Medium)
A versatile, medium-hard carving wax used by jewelers and sculptors to create intricate, detailed models for lost-wax casting. It is ideal for making rings, pendants, bracelets, and earrings, as it can be easily filed, sawed, and carved without clogging tools, while offering enough flexibility to resist breaking during handling.
Ferris File-A-Wax Green (Hard)
A hard, rigid, and non-flexible jewelry carving wax, specially designed for highly detailed, sharp-edged, and intricate models for lost-wax casting. Ideal for hand carving, CNC milling, or lathe turning.
