Important note on Eze-Lap sharpening tools!
You have purchased a high-quality EZE-LAP diamond sharpening tool that has been manufactured with great care and will give you many years of good service. Due to production at very high temperatures, a natural "burr" is formed on the surface, which initially makes the surface appear rough and coarse. Microscopically, this "burr" consists of individual points that protrude beyond the actual homogeneous "diamond coating". During initial use, these protruding points are gradually ground off until a uniform surface structure is achieved. The sharpening performance therefore improves with frequent use. Incidentally, you can use EZE-LAP diamond sharpening tools wet and dry. Please also remember to clean your EZE-LAP diamond sharpening tool occasionally with a brush to remove any grinding dust - this will ensure that it serves you well for many years to come!
Worth knowing
EZE-LAP USA manufactures a wide variety of diamond products for sharpening knives and tools using five different diamond grits. EZE-LAP has been a pioneer and originator of diamond sharpeners since the early 1970’s. This wide selection in diamond sizes allows you to match the right diamond surface to your specific sharpening application.
Fine grit (600)
diamond has the abrasive ability to effectively sharpen a dull knife in less than a minute and bring the edge to keen razor finish. The fine grit is offered on all EZE-LAP diamond products. Grit 600 sharpeners have the designation “F” to indicate the fine grit. We at EZE-LAP feel that 98% of all sharpening can be performed by our fine (600) grit diamond.
Medium grit (400)
When your job requires a surface that will sharpen quickly, but still leave a high quality finish (suitable for i.e. shaving), we offer a medium (400) grit diamond. Grit 400 sharpeners have the designation “M” to indicate the medium grit.
Coarse grit (250)
For those who wish to get the job done fast but are still interested in a good quality finish EZE-LAP offers a coarse (250) grit diamond. This diamond surface lends itself well for sharpening axes, shovels, garden tools, industrial shop tools and de-burring application. Coarse grit is also offered on all flat tools. Grit 250 sharpeners have the designation “C” to indicate the coarse grit.
X-Coarse grit (150)
For very fast metal removal try our extra coarse (150) grit diamond for roughing in or prepping for final finish. Extra coarse grit is available on all flat tools. Grit 150 sharpeners have the designation “XC” to indicate the extra coarse grit.
Superfine grit (1200)
To achieve the ultimate in a polished finish try our Superfine (1200) grit diamond surface. It is designed to polish and fine finish to mirror perfection. Ideally suited for woodworking and industrial application where only perfection is tolerated. Grit 1200 sharpeners have the designation “SF” to indicate the superfine grit.
EZE-LAP boasts about its quality. We are proud to offer the flattest, most consistent production diamond tools available on the market today.
