The proven piercing instrument combines user-friendly handling and quality for effortless ear piercing. Studex PLUS was developed in the USA and is a proven, classic ear piercing system with which the initial plugs are inserted into the earlobe with spring pressure. It complies with the hygiene regulations of numerous countries, such as Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The proven instrument combines user-friendly handling and quality for effortless ear piercing.
The Studex PLUS system includes sterile disposable hygiene attachments and disposable adapters for initial plugs, ensuring that the ear never comes into direct contact with the instrument. To help distinguish between the different sizes, the adapters and first plugs are color-coded. This ensures that the appropriate adapters are used for the corresponding ear plug size.

Worth knowing
The STUDS+ system from Studex, consisting of sterile ear plugs (No. 8371 + 8372) and the STUDS+ ear piercing gun (No. 8370), ensures maximum safety against infectious diseases, because all parts that come into contact with the customer's ear are used only once and then disposed of. STUDS+ surgical steel ear studs from Studex are packed in pairs in sterile visual packs and comply with both the EU CE directives, the EU nickel regulation, and the American FDA (U.S. Food & Drug Administration) guidelines.
Each package contains 12 pairs of the selected ear studs including matching disposable shot inserts for the STUDS+ - ear piercing gun (No. 8370). The sealing paper of each individual package is marked with a date until which the manufacturer guarantees the sterility of the ear stud and closure. The sterility period is usually 10 years from the date of production.

What should be considered with regard to nickel in jewelry?
Nickel can be found in many places in today's everyday life, e.g. in jewelry, eyeglass frames, wrist watches, zippers, buttons, buckles or scissors. Also, any steel is always made of nickel and other materials. Even lettuce and chocolate contain nickel. All too cheap costume jewelry can sometimes be quite high in nickel. However, since some people are allergic to nickel, the EU nickel regulation stipulates how much nickel may be released onto the skin per week. For ear jewelry, this is a maximum of 0.2 micrograms per square centimeter per week (i.e. 0.2 millionths of a gram). All stud earrings and earrings from Studex fall well below this guideline value and are therefore ideally suited for piercing ears.
What is "surgical steel"?
The surgical steel used by Studex is a non-rusting steel with the designation 316L. Like all types of steel, this steel contains nickel. However, the nickel release in our plugs and earrings is well below the maximum level of the EU Nickel Regulation, so they are considered hypoallergenic and are well-suited for use as initial and follow-up earrings. This steel is also used in medicine, e.g. for surgical implants, which remain in the human body for a lifetime without showing any harmful side effects.
